Bloomsburg Falls in PSAC Women's Tennis Championship

BLOOMSBURG-- The California (PA) University women's tennis team won the 2007 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship with a 5-0 win over Bloomsburg University on Saturday afternoon in Bloomsburg. Slippery Rock took the third place match defeating Millersville University, 5-0.

In the title match, the Vulcans, ranked seventh in the country, picked up wins in all three doubles matches then won the matches played at number five and six singles. Earning MVP honors for the event was Cal's Inga Chilingaryan. The PSAC title was the first for California since the 1993 season and improves its record to 25-1 for the year.

Bloomsburg falls to 17-3 on the year.

In the consolation match, Slippery Rock breezed to an easy win by sweeping doubles and earning victories at number one and number four singles.
