Bloomsburg Falls to Shippensburg in Baseball
SHIPPENSBURG —Bloomsburg University dropped a pair of games to Shippensburg University on Sunday in collegiate baseball action. The Huskies lost 5-4 and 10-2.
In game one, the Huskies' Mark Reiter doubled home two runs in the third inning, while Troy Smit drove home another run in the fourth on a suicide squeeze. Trailing 5-3 heading into the top of the seventh, the Huskies got home one run when Reiter hit an infield single to pinch-runner Dave Koehler. The Huskies then loaded the bases with two outs before Chris Husted grounded into a fielder's choice to end the game.
In game two, the Red Raiders scored six times in the first inning and went on to an easy 10-2 win. The Huskies got a run batted in from both Mark Reiter and Brian Zorger.
Bloomsburg, 8-11, will play at Lock Haven on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
