- BRINT/Business & Technology Yogesh Malhotra has been compiling a Business Researcher's INTerests since 1994.
- CEO Express from AphaSight also has many links. The first category is Daily News and Information; the second is Business Research.
- Nijenrode Business Information Services is maintained by Nijenrode University Library in the Netherlands.
- Researching Companies Online is less of a tutorial for finding information on companies and industries than a business subject list of links, albeit a good list.
- Yahoo's Business and Economy Page Follows the Yahoo pattern of providing both a searchable index and a subject directory.
COMPANIES
- SuperPages A good yellow pages to find company or industry locations. Directory information for over 11 million American businesses.
- Corporate Information This service lists capsule reports from Hoover's, Quicken, Vault, and Wright plus SEC reports from FreeEdgar. Favorably reviewed.
- Edgar Online The official Edgar, the SEC's database of financial reports for publicly held companies and mutual funds. The 10K, a report for the fiscal year, is the most complete.
- Galaxy ". . . a guide to worldwide information and services and is provided as a public service by TradeWave Corporation." Includes business articles and announcements, geographic data, and lists of other web sites.
- GSI Public Company Websites "GSI Online makes this index available to provide internet users with central easy access to information provided by public companies. Information provided by public companies includes, 10-K's, A/RS, 10-Q, Proxy, press releases...." The index allows you to select the first letter of the company you are interested in.
- Hoover's Online Free information includes 1) Links to over 2000 company web sites, 2) Corporate Directory of 10,000+ companies, and 3) Industry Snapshots.
- Public Register's Annual Report Service You may order free annual reports of over 3600 public companies.
- Wall Street Research Net/Company Research is good starting point to research over 17,000 companies.
INDUSTRIES
- Canadian Industry Statistics includes U. S. data, and they use the same Standard Industrial Classification code.
- IndustryLink Links to over twenty large industries, e.g. Aerospace, Automation, Automotive, Chemical).
- Industry Research Desk More than just links to business and companies, this site explains research techniques.
- North American Industry Classification System NAICS is replacing the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system, chiefly due to NAFTA. THIS U. S. Census Bureau site gives the NAICS codes and conversion from SIC.
ACCOUNTING
- CorpFiNeT's Accounting Firms on the Web A directory of "major international accounting firms providing services in accounting, auditing, taxation, management consulting and other areas."
- Rutgers Accounting Web This award-winning site has a search engine plus links to AICPA and other associations, tax tutorial software. Directories include accounting firms, accounting journals, government agencies, and tax sources.
- Tax and Accounting Sites Directory is compiled by Dennis Schmidt, Professor of Accounting at the University of Northern Iowa.
CIS/MIS
- CAIT Information Systems Meta-List "This list is an attempt to provide a comprehensive set of pointers to information systems resources on the Internet. It is sponsored by Washington University's Center for the Application of Information Technology. Though you may find general computer information here, the intent of this list is to meet the needs of professional information systems people looking for answers to technology problems." Links to comments and FAQs about databases, servers, and systems.
- Yahoo's MIS page Contains a search engine, a directory, and links to MIS Conferences, Courses, Institutes, Journals, and Organizations.
FINANCE
- Bloomberg This respected financial service includes pages for World Markets, Bloomberg News, Financial Analysis, Who/What/Where/When, and Products & Services.
- CorpFiNet "The CorpFiNet Directory consists of hundreds of business finance related Web sites which are reviewed and categorized in a way that makes finding reputable companies on the Internet easy. Sophisticated search engines also allow users to search through the CorpFiNet directories to find specific companies based on user selected criteria. " This meta page, supported by unnamed sponsors, purports to have "The most complete directory on the Internet of corporate and commercial finance services, products and information."
- FinanceNet A highly rated worldwide network for public financial management. It is associated with the NetResults teams at the Vice/President Gore's Office of the National Performance Review (NPR).
- Big Charts Type the exchange symbol of a company or mutual fund below, to view a page including the company's current and/or historical price and chart.
- Virtual Finance Library This award winning Ohio State site has sections designed for finance students and faculty.
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
- International Business University of Pennsylvania Lippincott Library of the Wharton Schoollinks to over 25 organization or government sites.
- International Business Resource Center The University of Kansas has excellent links; most are annotated, and some are rated.
- The International Trade Center is operated by the United Nations and the World Trade Organization. This page is a useful starting place for import/export statistics and other trade information.
- Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development "The OECD is an international organisation with 29 Member countries from North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific area. . . [with] most of the world's largest economies." Some documents may be downloaded free; others may be purchased or requested through interlibrary loan.
- U.S. Department of State/ Coordinator for Business Affairs This office aids firms doing business in other countries. Links include Country Commercial Guides, Country Reports on Economic and Trade Practices (Trade Reports), and Country Information.
- Virtual International Business and Economic Sources is maintained by Jeanie M. Welch, Reference Unit Head and Business Subject Specialist, J. Murrey Atkins Library, University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The Table of Contents lists topical and geographical links.

- American Management Association International Some research reports and articles (check out Trend Watch) are available to non-members.
- Business Ethics Resources on WWW University of British Columbia's Centre for Applied Ethics links to codes for various societies and businesses.
- Operations Management Center is sponsored by Irwin/McGraw-Hill to provide a focal point for finding operations management resources that are valuable for students and faculty.
- U.S. Small Business Administration The best place to start for entrepreneurial research. The Online Library has many legal materials and reports, and Outside Resources has valuable external links to business and other topics.

- American Demographics / Marketing Tools This site provides a full text search on consumer and business data catalogs, marketing services, and back issues (with article abstracts) of the American Demographics, Marketing Tools magazine, and The Numbers News, a newsletter of demographics and marketing research.
- Know Marketing Created by two professors from West Chester University, this site was chosen by CERN, originators of the World Wide Web Consortium, to be the Marketing specialty area within the World Wide Web Virtual Library. It has since evolved into KnowThis.com.
- Marketing Resource Center from the Concept Marketing Group has an Articles Library providing marketing advice.
- Media Central Site Source Media, marketing, and advertising news Lots of links, but no annotations from this well-known business school in the Netherlands.
